Top places to visit in Finland
Helsinki
Finland’s southern capital is located on a peninsula in the Gulf of Finland. A laid-back city that prides itself on its sustainability and green ethos, Helsinki is also a design-lover’s delight thanks to its smart, colorful architecture and plethora of galleries, boutiques and interior design shops.
Rovaniemi
If you want to visit the “official” home town of Santa Claus, head to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in Northern Finland. From early June to early July you can experience the midnight sun, while a trip to Arktikum, a museum and science centre, will help you explore the Arctic region and history of Finnish Lapland.
Muonio
This town is located in Northern Finland, above the Arctic Circle. Head to the banks of the Muonio River for some of the cleanest air in the world. Its pollution-free skies makes for one of the best spots to see the Northern Lights. From here, you can grab some skis or hop on a trip into the Finnish wilderness.
Torassieppi
Torassieppi is in the heart of Finnish Lapland and the perfect destination for anyone looking to partake in some winter sports. From ice-fishing and snow-shoeing, to snowmobile trips, this small area of Finland is a winter wonderland.
